CODY LAIN

Lead Pastor

Cody Lain came as our lead pastor in December of 2016. Cody is originally from Amarillo, TX and grew up as a typical preachers kid. He accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord at the age of 11 and later surrendered his life to ministry. He graduated with a bachelors degree from Hardin-Simmons University and received his M.Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before becoming our lead pastor, Cody served for 16 years in youth ministry in various churches throughout Texas. He married Elizabeth and they have three children, Luke, Ellie, and Levi. Cody enjoys hunting and spending time with his family.

SHAUN MARTIN

Worship, Media, and Outreach Pastor

Shaun was born in Panama City Florida and grew up all over the world, accepting the call to vocational ministry at the age of 17. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and has served several churches in Florida, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Shaun is married to his wife Brittany, and they have three children; Cayson, Bryce, and Natalie. The Martin family came to serve with us in August of 2018. Shaun loves sports, enjoys coaching at all levels, and loves spending time with his family.

David Voss

David wanted to be The Voice of The Razorbacks when he was young. God had other plans for him though. Two years ago he retired after 30 years as a Classroom Teacher. A graduate of Southern Arkansas University with a BSE in Elementary Education, he spent his first 10 years teaching and coaching at West Side Christian School. A local sports writer tabbed him “The Grandfather of West Side Lady Warrior Basketball” due to his starting the program from scratch during the 1990-1991 school year. He was ordained to the Ministry on February 28, 2021 and joined the Staff August 1, 2021 as Senior Adults Pastor. He has since added Adult Education and Facilities Director to his responsibilities. An El Dorado native, David is married to Lisa and they are the proud parents of grown children Landon and Olivia. David enjoys Razorback sports, hunting, and fishing, spending time with his family, and taking care of his 30 chickens!

DR. JOHN SPENCER

Missions Pastor and School Administrator

John and his wife Julie have three children. They have served in ministry for several years in South Arkansas among the Spanish-speaking community. Recently they helped start Iglesia Betel (Bethel Church) which meets just east of town on Highway 63. They have also served in other churches in Missouri and Texas and participated in mission work in Mexico.

John grew up in rural Missouri rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. He met Julie at Ouachita Baptist University, and in December they will celebrate 23 years of marriage. Julie is an El Dorado native where they currently live with their three sons--Stephen, Julius and Teddy. As a family, they love to spend time reading, playing outside, making music, and sharing meals with friends and family.

John has served as Administrator of West Side Christian School since 2021.

JONATHAN MCDANIEL

Youth Pastor

Jonathan joined our team in October of 2023. He loves seeing teenagers grow in their faith and obedience to the Lord. Jonathan has served as a youth pastor for 10 years and would love to stay in youth ministry as long as the Lord would have him.

Jonathan married his wife, Amy, in December of 2016. They have three rambunctious children that are five years old and under, Sophia, Philip, and Macy.

Jonathan enjoys rough-housing with his children, attending students’ ball games, woodworking, playing volleyball, and that rare moment where he and his wife are able to sit on the couch together in silence.

JESSICA PORsCH

Children's Director

Jessica joined our team in February of 2024 as Children’s Director. She has served in youth and children’s ministry for over 10 years and has been an elementary teacher for 12 years, 8 of which have been spent in her Kindergarten classroom at WSCS. Jessica has a Master’s of Education with a specialization in Early Childhood through Elementary. She is passionate about teaching children with the love of Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Jessica is married to Jeremy and they have 2 girls, Julia and Jaylee. She enjoys time at home with her dogs, gardening, and cheering for the Texas Rangers.

Rachel Jerry

Interim Children's Director

Rachel began serving as our Interim Children's Director in August of 2023. She has been a member of West Side for approximately 15 years and has served in our Children's Ministry for many of those years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from SAU and also works for West Side Christian School. Rachel is married to Jeremy and they have four children: Bryce, Abby, Sophie, and Lilly.

Susan Shoemaker

Administrative Assistant

Susan has been the Administrative Assistant at West Side since April of 2019. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Master's in Social Work from UALR. She and her husband Brad have been married since August of 2008, and they have 3 children, James, Conner, & Lila, who attend West Side Christian School.

Landon Voss

Landon was born and raised in El Dorado. He grew up going to church at West Side as well as attending West Side Christian School where he played basketball, football, baseball and golf. He has been on staff as our Creative Director since January of 2018. Landon loves watching sports and playing video games.

ALEXIA TAYLOR

Alexia has been the Ministry Assistant for West Side since February 2023. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 2017. She and her husband Alex have been married since 2021 and have one child, Rex, who attends West Side Daycare.
